Your Character

General Information

Name: Amelia Susan Bones

Possible journal name for this character: errrr…. *desperately tries to think of a pun involving “Bones”*… “Shes_that_Bones”, “oi_boney”, “sticksandstones”… Dunno…

Date of birth: mid/late '50s - early '60s presumably (hehe, I'm not in a maths!mood, so I can't be
bothered to work out the exact year... later maybe!) 17th April, making her an Arien:
Hufflepuff Ariens have an extreme abundance of energy; however, the usual Hufflepuff tendency to work hard out of duty is modified by the Aries tendency to value play over work. Therefore, expect long periods of playfulness and seeming indolence punctuated by brief, manic bursts of industry. These Hufflepuffs may also be more ambitious and socially aggressive than average, making them clear leaders in their House. Their emotional warmth, open hearts, madcap sense of humour, and quirky independence will endear them to many people, but their naivete makes for easy exploitation by more ruthless sorts of people.

House: Hufflepuff

Blood Status (Pureblood, Half-blood, Muggle-born, etc): pureblood

Physical description: slim(ish) (though, potentially rather stout!), reasonably tall, blue eyes, light brown/blonde, wavey hair… Quite average, actually!

Personality

First impression (others have of you): Often, people seem to get the impression that I’m quite subdued, but that’s just because I feel awkward around people I don’t know very well. I’m also generally viewed as hardworking, generous and fair (the last one is the reason why people always seem to choose me to adjudicate over things)!

General personality traits: A little shy by most standards, but not at all by Hufflepuff standards, hardworking, fairly generous, honest, quite loyal to my friends…

Likes: The usual; (playing) clarinet, friends, chocolate, collecting chocolate frog cards (I only have 72 though, as my last collection “went missing”…), playing exploding snap (I haven’t been singed or lost a game in over a year and a half), bad puns, sleeping in until midday, learning “illegal” hexes (yes, yes, I have a “dark” side :P), feminism, singing, muggle music…

Dislikes: You-know-who, injustice, chauvinists, being over-teased

Extracurricular Activities: Runes Society, Extra DADA (we learn all sorts of weird counter-curses), tutoring people, being tutored :S, substitute Hufflepuff Quidditch team (in other words, I didn’t make the team… Damnit!)

Personal Weakness(es): A tendency to become distracted by the smallest things, my charms work, bad puns and jokes, an inability to get out of bed in the mornings, singing (my singing is rather awful), chocolate

Personal Strength(s): Bravery (I guess…), honesty

Close Friendships: My older brother; Edgar, Marlene Mckinnon, Amos Diggory, Benjy Fenwick, Hestia Jones, Lionel Lovegoo), Gideon Prewett. I get along with most of the Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws, actually!

Truth or Dare?: Truth

Share a secret: I once used an illegal hex on Snape (in fifth year), but it didn’t do anything…

Family History

Parents: Mr William Bones and Mrs Mary Bones

Siblings: Edgar (Bones)

Tell us, in a paragraph, what it was like growing up with your family: My family’s an interesting one. Mum is a feminist and, therefore, refused to conform to any of the stereotypical “mother” or “wife” roles. As a result, dad made our meals, washed our clothes, tidied the house and more while mum went about “taking back the night” on her broom! Edgar and I used to argue quite a lot, when small, but, as we’ve grown older, the arguments have lessened and we are, actually, quite close. I’ve inherited many of my parents’ values; honesty, fairness and working hard along with some of my mum’s oddness. In summary; I’d say that I’ve had a rather odd yet enjoyable upbringing.
